Important First Steps
  • Activate your NetID
    Your NetID is a unique identifier that gives you access to Yale online resources and e-mail. After you matriculate, you will receive an email with information about activating your NetID, choosing a password, and setting up security questions. Please note that it takes two working days for Yale’s system to process your acceptance to Yale College. Once your acceptance is processed you will receive an email from Camille Lizarribar, the Dean of Student Affairs, with information on how to activate your net id, complete your housing and advising form, and access you EliApps email account.
  • Access your EliApps email account.
    Once you have activated your NetID, please go to EliApps to set up your email account so that Yale College may communicate with you.
  • Housing and Advising Form.
    The information you provide will be used to assign you to a residential college, to your suitemates, and to your freshman counselor.

  • Upload your photo ID
    Yale University requires that all students be issued an official Yale University photo identification card. You will need this card to gain access to residential colleges, dormitories, dining halls, libraries, recreational facilities and other University buildings and services.
  • Family Information Form.
    Provides Yale College with essential family information. Deadline June 20
  • Office of the Chaplain Religious Information form
    The information gathered from this form is used to keep current on the religious diversity at Yale in order to offer support as broadly as possible to the community. It is shared with groups authorized by the Office of the University Chaplain. Deadline June 1
  • Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale form.
    Please complete if you are an observant Jewish student for whom electronics to enter a dormitory or residential college on the Sabbath and holidays poses a problem. Deadline May 5
Changing Your Address and Contact Information 

It is important that we have your current permanent home address, home telephone, and cell phone number. If your permanent home address changes before May 22, email with your new information. If your permanent home address changes after May 22, use the Student Information Systems to update this information. We cannot accept temporary addresses so please arrange for your mail to be forwarded from your permanent home address to your temporary location.
