Alumni Association

The YSE Alumni Association is led by an elected Alumni Association Board (AAB) of twenty to twenty five alumni who represent the school’s more than 5,000 alumni around the world. The AAB meets once a month from September through June, usually by video call. Newly elected AAB members begin a three-year term each October, and most serve two three-year terms. AAB members are expected to travel twice annually: to New Haven each fall and to either New Haven or another location in the spring. The AAB is supported by staff in the YSE Office of Development and Alumni Services.

As part of a responsive, alumni-driven community, the board serves key functions such as providing alumni perspectives on key issues, recognizing alumni accomplishments through annual awards, connecting with prospective and admitted students, and raising awareness of YSE’s mission and impact.

Additional board projects evolve based on alumni needs and member interests, ranging from career development workshops to building regional groups to boost global engagement and creating and sharing programming of interest to YSE alumni.

The Alumni Association Board oversees the annual AAB nominations/elections process, as well as the selection of the Distinguished Alumni and Prospect Street award recipients named at Reunion Weekend each year. The YSE Alumni Association Board Scholarship is awarded annually to current students who demonstrate outstanding community engagement and volunteer leadership. Alumni events and e-newsletters, along with the YSE magazine Canopy, keep alumni throughout the world in touch with each other and the school.

The YSE Alumni Association is also affiliated with the Yale Alumni Association (YAA), which serves all alumni of Yale University.
