Many instructors prepare packets of readings and other course materials for distribution to their students, either in paper form or online. In gathering and copying such materials, instructors are expected to comply with applicable copyright law and are responsible for seeking permission when fair use is exceeded. Instructors requesting copies from the copying services should ask that they be double-sided and on stock that is at least 30 percent post-consumer waste content in order to conserve natural resources.
