Yale College does not have a core curriculum but ensures breadth of study through distributional requirements. Students must fulfill these distributional requirements to earn the bachelor’s degree. This section of the handbook discusses the distributional requirements as they relate to the work of the DUS, including guidelines for designing courses to fulfill the requirements. 

It is a good idea to remind faculty that they should consider requesting a distributional designation when they submit a new course proposal, whenever appropriate.
